Random-player games

چکیده

This paper introduces general games with incomplete information in which the number, as well as the types or identities, of the participating players are determined by chance and might not be known to the players when they make their choices of actions. In these games, the selection of the number and types of players is modeled as a finite point process on a suitable type space. Definitions of pure-strategy, mixed-strategy, and correlated equilibria in random-player games are given, extending the corresponding ones for finite games, Bayesian games, and games with population uncertainty, which may all be considered as special cases of random-player games. Random-Player Maker-Breaker games

In a (1 : b) Maker-Breaker game, one of the central questions is to find the maximal value of b that allows Maker to win the game (that is, the critical bias b∗). Erdős conjectured that the critical bias for many Maker-Breaker games played on the edge set of Kn is the same as if both players claim edges randomly. Indeed, in many Maker-Breaker games, “Erdős Paradigm” turned out to be true. There...

A First Step Towards Analyzing the Convergence Time in Player-Specific Singleton Congestion Games

We initiate studying the convergence time to Nash equilibria in playerspecific singleton congestion games. We consider simple games that have natural representations as graphs as we assume that each player chooses between two resources. We are not able to present an analysis for general graphs. However, we present first results for interesting classes of graphs. For the class of games that are ...

On the Convergence Time of the Best Response Dynamics in Player-specific Congestion Games

We study the convergence time of the best response dynamics in player-specific singleton congestion games. It is well known that this dynamics can cycle, although from every state a short sequence of best responses to a Nash equilibrium exists. Thus, the random best response dynamics, which selects the next player to play a best response uniformly at random, terminates in a Nash equilibrium wit...

Random Extensive Form Games and its Application to Bargaining

We consider two-player random extensive form games where the payoffs at the leaves are independently drawn uniformly at random from a given feasible set C. We study the asymptotic distribution of the subgame perfect equilibrium outcome for binarytrees with increasing depth in various random (or deterministic) assignments of players to nodes. We characterize the assignments under which the asymp...
